Life Today, Life Tomorrow.
Life will never be the same as it is now. Whether we’re moving forward or not, life keeps going. People will be moving around us, with us, or past us.
About a month ago me and a few friends were trying to plan a camping trip. We had gone on one the year before and we all agreed it was a great experience; one of the highlights of our lives. It was something we would reminisce about when we got old. So we decided to get all the guys together and do it over again.
One of the guys was getting married, another was headed off to college, and another was going into an internship; so this was going to be our last hurrah. But it just didn’t work out. There were issues with school, work, and the weather. It wasn’t the epic adventure that we planned on having. One of the guys could only make it for one day, the weather was bad on a couple of the days, and there was construction in the way of our favorite stops. It was nothing like the year before. I came back a little disappointed, wondering what went wrong.
After a few days I realized something. Life will never be exactly the same as it is right now. People change, situations change, and time keeps going. If we don’t pay attention, we’ll miss it. We need to take time to enjoy this moment in life. We need to appreciate the good in life today, because things might not be the same tomorrow. The one and only guarantee in life is God.
